Description

Gyokuro tea is the most unique and premium Japanese Green Tea, known for its health benefits. Gyokuro is old tea plants are shaded for approximately three weeks before harvest to reduce the effect of photosynthesis.

This process increases the natural components of Gyokuro including Catechins, Amino acids ( Theanine), Flavonoids, Polysaccharides, Fluoride, Vitamin B, C and E and mild Caffeine.

“Gyokuro ” translates as “jewel dew” or “jade dew”, referring to the vivid green colour of the infusion. It also has a sweet, delicate and mild flavour giving a soft palate texture and is the only green tea leaf that can be eaten.

How to Brew

  1. Heat water to 50-60 degrees celsius (50% boiling water, 50% cold water/60% boiling water, 40 % cold water)
  2. Use 1 teaspoon of Imperial Gyokuro green tea leaves for 1 cup of tea.
  3. Pour water into tea pot or tea cup and brew for up to 1 minute.

Tea can be brewed for 2-3 infusions. Imperial Gyokuro is the only green tea that you can the leaves can be eaten!
